nerf archer pls ty :(

In my opinion this game is very good, the pixel art is amazing and the mechanics polished, however, I did find it rather easy, not challenging in the slightest.

bro this game has so much JUICE

seriously fantastic job

mouse cursor invisible MACOS in Chrom

(-1)

has stuff been fixed, so bating the last elvel is now possible?

(+2)(-1)

the last level is definitely 100% beatable!  If you want any hints for where to place towers I can help you out

(-5)

just a liar like the kfc guy...
That probabl in his next comment will claim he so easily beat the game that he didnt touch his computer, he just thought of it and BANG he was already world champion and everyone clapped.God being so Op and such a big shameless liar must be nice...

(+1)

Lol can you send a recording of your attempt? I'm curious why you think it's not possible

(+1)

Very fun, great demo

fun game

really liked this one, truly inspiring!

love this game something i would change is an option to hide the drops since they auto collect at the end of the round since it adds a lot of lag and pulls your focus from the enemies specifically the last round where i targeted the little boss and took extra time to get red thingy and then didnt hit the boss for a pretty long time and almost lost

(+5)

Looks like a lot of fun, but I unfortunately can't play due to my mouse being hidden when hovering over the window and the custom cursor for some reason only being visible within menus (e.g. settings, game over screen). If it helps, I'm playing on Chrome.

Hey David! May I ask if you have any general tips for optimizing Godot games to web? I’m a newbie to this engine and am losing my mind over making my game run above 60 fps (my laptop runs at 120)

I know optimization is a process that varies a lot from game to game, but apart from the help I occasionally get on Reddit I’m kinda lost

Thanks for reading! Tiny Towers’ a great game btw

Biggest thing for us was converting all GPU particles to CPU.  You can select a GPU particle node, then in the top middle of Godot click on GPUParticles2D and click "Convert to CPUParticles2D".  But duplicate the GPU particle first, and have a global variable called "web_build: bool = true".  Then in all scenes you have to put "if web_build == true, use CPU particle".  There were some other things we did like object pooling but that was the biggest thing

Thanks!! I’ll try doing this

Loved the game! Punchy, feels fresh, just one more round vibes!

This was a ton of fun, and the art style is just chefs kiss

Also, after collecting the brick, I get a weird issue where the enemies disappear/flicker on and off

Will it come out on itch as well, or steam only?

I really want to play this, but can't see the mouse in gameplay mode (I can see the mouse pointer in the settings though

This is awesome! So much juice

hey, very nice towerdefense game :D loved to play through it.

Very minor things i felt:

Level 1/2 were visualy overwhelming for me. Very beautiful but i had struggles to understand what i need to pay attention to. (checked what can i click besides Ore veins...) There are A LOT of effects and details that fight for attention. After the first two levels i got used to it or knew what is important and just enjoyed the graphics.

klicking the ore vein felt bad because i lost cursor dps. The talent Midas touch was not yet visible. (maybe swap it with royal tribute? --> just so that the moment you unlock the combo you can see the upgrade that solves the issue

there are talents like "midas touch 2" that have written "requires midas touch" personaly i like it if required talents are unlocked on the way by pathing to the upgrade. --> otherwise whats the point in skill tree pathing. But even if thats just a me thing, it would be very handy to have a search or "jump to talent" function to see where it is on the skilltree.

Doesn't matter at all but its possible to place towers outside the playarea. :D--> klick inside the placable space, and drag it out of the screen very fast.

wish I could see my mouse, and that the screen would stop turning black

What a fantastic demo! Very excited about a full release. Love the art style, the VFX, and the UI.

Just a short yet cool game. Though the music disappears when there are too many projectiles on the screen

Really enjoyed this game : ) I have no feedback I thought it was great, just wishing there was more. Wishlist +1!

very cool game.

(+1)

Recorded myself playing, because why not.

I'm not much of a content creator, so its not the most entertaining video of all time; so I left some distilled feedback and thoughts in the description just incase you couldn't make it more than 30 seconds into the video. That and I was rambling without structure anyways, so its better to read the distilled version

Great stuff!

My suggestions, accept like you desire.
Moving tower could be easier on input. Right now, using de 1-9 to place is great but needing to click to remove and then use the number to place seems not great. Maybe the last removed tower should be select auto. Or pressing 1-9 the last (?) placed tower of that type could be removed and select to place. Or change entirely to allow to click and drag the tower,

(-1)

Still as cool as ever. The x1.5 mouse cursor is just OP. Once you get that upgrade, you won't need to upgrade the rest of the skill tree (well, almost, don't take that literally).

 great game

Lots of fun! Giving you a wishlist.

(+2)

Great game! I love the way the towers are placeable items from your repository, rather than purchasable ones. The mechanics, the art, and the music were excellent. Well done!

I was reading some comments below, so I wanted to share that you can actually beat the game without ever buying the cannoneers (I did it as a test). You can also beat the last level without ever using your cursor attack (just make sure to max everything else, first). Here is the last level layout with no cannons and you just watching :)

A working layout for once, not like that KFC liar everywhere :-)

Made a video

very fun game

Excellent game, does nothing particularly "new" but everything it does is done to perfection.

Mechanics are simple staples unlocked as and when you want them

easy 9/10 demo. loses a point because for a single half second a cloud covered my gold amount and i couldnt see what it was. :P

This is one of the best games I've played in a while

Is it possible to unlock skills that aren't available in the demo by some miracle if you have enough resources? :) Because I have everything except the keys; I have 7, but I need 9. If it's possible, I'd have to reset my web game save and do a challenge where I don't upgrade anything in the end to save 2 keys and get an upgrade that isn't available in the demo. LOL

Let me know, dev.

Lol no, even if you save up all your keys unlocking those skills won't actually provide you with any buffs or towers. I appreciate that you're even willing to try lol

Yeah, don't do it. 9 keys wasted :(

(1 edit) (+3)

Using mac and chrome, I can't see the cursor. When I opened the menu, I can see it but on gameplay can't.

Same issue

SOOOOOOO Good man! Can't wait for the actual release!

The ruby sound is the same as the WitchHand sound effect :D

Cute. Is it possible to know which database was used for the sound effects, please?

And please, regarding data management (4G/5G data), could you enable manual launch of the web game? Because right now, every time I press F5, the game completely redownloads.

In my opinion, a way you can make the game harder is to not allow us to place towers in places where there's trees or rocks. Overall pretty fun game, struggled with the boss a little but pushed through after getting the ice wizard.

An ice wizard is essential, and above all, kill the small boss first because he divides the archers' DPS by 2 by redirecting the focus towards him.

(+1)

good game, but I jsut cant manange to beat the final level.

one guy dead and the bigger guy like on his last bit of health left...

I got all the upgrade and am literally testing all sorts of arrangements on where and how to place the towers but i just cant seem to find the perfect setup...

Same. I scrolled down to see if anyone beat the level or if it was just me. Seems like it's a dead end... I've also tried moving the towers around and I got pretty good results moving the ice wizard around incredibly quickly mid-game. In fact it was the farthest I've gotten doing that, though I still ended up dying anyways after 3 tries of this so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Pro tip if you're doing this: freeze and cursor-attack the big guy as much as possible and ignore freezing the little guy. You'll end up freezing the little one in the process, but it's fast enough where it doesn't make much difference. Let your towers do damage on the little guy and concentrate mostly on slowing down and dwindling the health of the big one. The thing that worked for me is only one move: from the first section of the path to the second. Too much moving kills any time you have for cursor-attacks, so I found minimizing moving the towers as much as possible to be ideal.

I tried to move the other towers around mid-game but it seems to mess up the AI and cause them to stop shooting when I do. My worst runs were when I tried doing it with other towers. Sucks to see I can't just move my archers around because they do more damage than my cursor could ever do.

This is the furthest I've gotten btw:

Hey I replied to the other person already but basically there are skills that were accidentally hidden in this version. I will fix this soon in the next update, its my fault

(+1)

wait, you can move towers? :O

well, not like it would matter to me much since I wouldnt have time for it during that time (gotta keep the cursor on the big guy!).

but I didnt even consider it.

Would be great if towr selection could be performed with numebr keys, so I dont have to move the mosue down there! :-)

(1 edit) (+1)(-1)

This is the perfect placement; I think the developer intended it this way.

Tip: Kill the smallest first because the archer towers are single-target, and the smallest reduces your DPS. Once the smallest is dead, the larger absorb all the archers' DPS.

(1 edit)

Thank you! This helped a lot. I had my ice wizard and bomber switched and somehow that affected a lot. I'm guessing it's because the ice wizard was freezing more of the overlap area. Got to kill the little guy a bit sooner than I usually do, whereas before the cursor attacks didn't do much. So thanks :D

Also technically you can win with a similar setup. I actually lost with your setup, switched it a bit and then won. Though I wonder if it was less a setup problem on your end and more how much the timing of when you start, cause some towers like the fire wizard and the ice wizard are doing attacks before you press start. It means if you start at a certain time, you get more recharge from the wizard towers and thus less damage given to the little guy cause it's fast without a freeze spell.

Anyways I also got a victory (finally >:D) with this setup:

Edit: Yup, it's the timing. Lost to my own setup during another run. Though it's less the fire wizards since their recharge is fast enough to ensure enough damage goes through and more the ice wizard. It's *incredibly* slow to recharge and if you time it incorrectly it just straight up won't freeze the little guy on the first stretch, making it die incredibly late. You want to freeze the little guy during the beginning of the ice wizard's range, and if it freezes during the middle or end or not at all you're basically cooked.
(-1)

Are you fully upgraded? Being fully upgraded is really chill, the little guy falls quickly and the big guy I don't even use the mouse on him, I AFK and launch the towers to do the rest.

as if -.-

yeah, roughly ahd the same setup, maybe the cannon towers one higher and one lower, so not that clsoe to the road.

but sadly cant test it since the web build wont laodf for me anymore, like it loads main menu, I press play,, screen goes dark but doesnt do any further.might also just be my old notebook that is messing aroudn again, being poor sucks :-)

i beat the final level.place ice in the center

(+1)

Hey so sorry, upon further inspection there is a set of skills that were meant to be accessible but were accidentally hidden. I will fix this soon in the next update, my fault

(+1)

this sure makes one wonder how tf other people that commented before cleared it.
or they didnt claer it at all...

(+1)

There's someone named KJC Lite that commented under me. You should see their advice cause it helped me get a victory :)

Also I started speculating if timing had to do with something, because KJC won from a setup that I lost to, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense since I followed exactly what they said. I took slightly extra time to move things around after placing down a similar setup and won. It could be the setup but I'm wondering if it's more likely just getting the perfect time to start the game to maximize the wizard towers' recharges.

epic epic game everyone should play it :)
